IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR CHANGES IN LEARNING
First and foremost, please know that you and your family are in my prayers. I pray that you are all healthy and safe during this period of uncertainty and evolving health emergency. Indeed, we are in unprecedented times. When the Minister of Education took the historical step of issuing a school closure order on March 12, we were commencing March break. It was unknown at that time that the closure period could possibly extend beyond two weeks.
The administration team and board acknowledge the challenges presented to students and families. We know, for example, the capacity to move to an on-line learning environment will present a challenge for some students and time will need to be devoted to assessing readiness and determining if other methods will need to be employed to ensure equity of access. School administrators and supervisory officers are preparing the resources and supports for teachers to engage in continuous learning with students.
As the board begins to phase in teacher-directed Continuous Learning with students, they have a dedicated staff that are making it possible for teachers to reconnect with students and families. Most of my curriculum is already in place, however I will take this week to update assignments to take in consideration the current circumstances. I will also be moving away from Weebly and moving all course content over to D2L. Please ensure you can access D2L and see the course. I have added some content and the new content will be added soon. I will officially commence the delivery of curriculum on Monday, April 6th. In the meantime, please ensure that any missing work is submitted through D2L. If you foresee any difficulty in continuing with the curriculum, please let me know the supports that you might need.

A general Outlook email account has been established for each school, which will be monitored by school secretaries. The general mailbox is intended to be a substitute for parents/guardians who would normally call the school office. At this time the school will remain closed. Please check the school or the board’s website for information you seek first. Any course related questions can be sent to me though D2L.
Please be assured that school and board staff will continue to be available to support you during these unprecedented times. We recognize that some students may be experiencing a level of anxiety associated with these changes. Rest assured, we understand that it will take some time for some students to be fully connected. Please don’t allow the uncertainty of the road ahead to negatively impact your emotional well-being. If you need any addition support, please let me know. We are all in this together.
I wish you and your family health and safety, and all of God’s blessings.
Sincerely…
Mr. Plommer
