IMPORTANT EXAMINATION INFORMATION FOR SEMESTER 2 COMM. TECH. CLASSES
All Comm Tech students are expected to attend class on their period's assigned Examination Day.
PERIOD 1 - TGJ3M1 class will complete the final part of their CPT in class. Student's are also reminded their e-Portfolio is also due on this day and editing will be turned off at 8:00 a.m.
PERIOD 3AB - TGJ2O1 class will complete a Practical Exam in class that will consist of completing a project in class in one of the areas of study from the semester. Students are also reminded that their CPT e-Portfolio is also due on this day and editing will be turned off at 8:00 a.m.

Assignment 1: Investigating Design and Colour
Complete the following assignments and submit your work to the class dropbox.
A logo is a graphic element that is used to represent and/or advertise a company, product, or person. It is made up of text or graphic element images or a combination of both. Use the Logo Worksheet to investigate logos around you and define the design principles and colour theories applied to these logos.
Assignment 2: Branding Me
Use painting, drawing, and text tools in Photoshop to create a logo that you can use as an identifying element for yourself. Select appropriate colours, layout, and elements that will bring your logo to life.
You want to ensure that viewers see the same colours in your logos across different devices so you will have to apply colour management techniques.

- Start by brainstorming a set of words and goals that best describes you. Determine design principles that you can use to evoke descriptive words as you sketch concepts for this logo.
- Create your logo using a canvas size of 243x103 pixels.
- Prepare and submit four versions of your logo:
- Version 1: for use in colour printed documents.
- Version 2: for use in black and white printed documents.
- Version 3: for use on the web.
- Version 4: for use in videos.
- Include a paragraph explaining your design decisions in creating each logo and your rationale for preparing the images for each medium (web, print, video), including the file type, size, and resolution for each version and situation
