You and your partner (if you choose one) will watch a number of trailers and create a recipe for a trailer that you will create. When researching please use earphones so that you are not distracting others. Once you have decided on your idea work on the following:
- Create a script and storyboard that will help you plan the shots you need to accomplish this task. Only one will be required from your group for submission. Storyboard paper is in the yellow folder on my desk.
- You will need to write your voice over script (this will either come from a narrator and/or come from dialog from the clips that you will shoot - be creative)
- You and your partner will be your talent. Using other people in the class is allowed, however they cannot be a dominant character as it will take time away from creating their own production. No other students from other classes are to be included.
- Record each shot in at least 3 different ways so that you have various option to choose from when editing. Similar to the in class edit.
- Please keep in mind that filming is a distract to students and classes in the hall. Please refrain from filming on the second or third floors. Most of your filming should be done on the first floor. Filming outside on school property is allowed, depending on the weather. Do not film on rainy days please.
- Copy your clips onto both members computers for editing.
- Select your music from https://freeplaymusic.com only music from this site will be allowed. Use you school email address to setup an account most music is free for educational use from this site.
- Write your voice over (this will come from a combination of a narrator and could also come from dialog from the clips that you will shoot - be creative)
- Your edited video is to be 30 - 60 seconds.
- Add transitions where necessary, straight cuts are best
- Add titles
- Add video effects where necessary
- Add colour treatment where necessary
- Add sound effects or other audio
- All content must be original or you have the rights to use it
- Review actual music trailer to see what things you might want to add.
EXEMPLARS
Since this is a new assignment I do not have any exemplars from past students. I find clips from other schools that have slightly different parameters so please follow my outline rather than what is presented below.
